SPDC: Leading the way in property development


Especially incorporated in 1989 by Government of Mauritius for property management and development, the State Property Development Co. Limited (SPDC) is positioned as a quality and value-added service provider in the areas of property development and project management contributing to the development of Mauritius.

To be a distinguished leader in the areas of property development and an outstanding provider of value added services such as, project management, facilities management and events management in Mauritius.

Shareholding

SPDC has the Government of Mauritius as it's major shareholder and the other shareholders are the State Investment Corporation (SIC), the State Trading Corporation (STC), the State Insurance Company of Mauritius (SICOM), the State Bank of Mauritius (SBM) and the Mauritius Ports Authority (MPA).

Corporate

SPDC is a public company, governed by a professional Board of Directors. The company is headed by a Chief Executive Officer who is responsible to the Board of Directors and manages a highly competent and committed team of professionals.

Major Projects

Over the years, SPDC has implemented several innovative projects in Mauritius. A select list is showcased below.

Waterfront Projects

Port Louis Waterfront Development, very popular with tourists, is one of the most well known projects managed by SPDC.

The initial development of Mahebourg is the second waterfront development project which has been developed by SPDC. It included the construction of a 700 metre long esplanade built on reclaimed land and a 30 metre long pier. The proposed project shall encompass a holistic development of the waterfront.

Project Management

SPDC has managed several projects in Mauritius, including the constructions of the Port Louis Waterfront and the initial development at Mahebourg Waterfront, the Baie du Tombeau Housing projects, the renovation of the Prime Minister’s Office and the construction of a swimming pool complex in the island of Rodrigues.

SPDC is also offering its project management services for the setting up of various tourist villages around the island.
